When I was 18, I took a just for fun job in a local flower shop (spoiler: it changed everything!) I learned so much in my time there and from then I decided to earn my degree. I graduated from WGU in June 2026 with my Bachelor’s in Business Marketing and I am currently working as a social media manager for my church.

all about olive + blooms
You may be wondering “why is it called olive + bloom florals?”
Growing up, I used to envy the people that had the names with the coolest meanings… like Bella which means “beautiful one” like how cool is that?!
When I found out my name means olive, I was honestly disappointed… like really? They couldn’t come up with anything cooler?
But as I’ve gotten older, I finally realized my name has quite a bit more significance than I had realized before.
In biblical times, the olive leaf signified peace and a new life.
After the flood in Genesis 7, Noah sent out a dove to see if the waters had receded and if it was safe to exit the boat. When the dove came back with an olive leaf in its mouth, Noah knew the water had gone and God’s judgement had ceased.
Now, the olive leaf is a symbol of peace and hope. Pretty cool, huh?!
Turns out my name does have a pretty cool meaning, and so does olive + bloom!
“When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth” - Genesis 8:11
